- (Ana Marie) Ree grew up in Sitka, Alaska where she has her fondest childhood memories. After attending Seattle University in Washington State, she returned to Alaska, this time in Juneau. Her passion for beaded and wire-worked jewelry was sparked during frequent visits to her local bead store while accompanying her daughter to have custom made pieces created for them. That was 12 years ago and Ree's creations have been featured in many retail shops. Inspiration for her work comes from the natural beauty found in all corners of Alaska. Although found Beach Sea Glass, Semi-precious stones, Walrus and Mammoth Ivories, Moose and Caribou Antlers are her favorite materials to work with, she also loves the challenge of designing jewelry with random found items that surrounds her. With the demands of a family of 5, Ree finds creating jewelry to be very therapeutic.
